Tenosynovitis

Tenosynovitis is inflammation of the tendon and its vagina. There are purulent (bacterial) tenosynovites, allergic, rheumatoid and others. There is pain at the basis of the thumb, on its dorsal surface, and its movements, as well as movements in the wrist, are painful. Another type of tenosynovitis of the hand is so called snapping finger. In this type of tenosynovitis the flexor of the finger, more often third, fourth or thumb, move more difficult through narrow part. The finger bends freely and normally, but has to be unbent with the help of another hand and then a snapping is heard. Usually there is little pain. On the palm, along the affected tendon there can be palpated a small lump. It is a change in the structure of the tendon of the palm. It is more often in menopause women, in diabetes mellitus and some inflammatory diseases.
